An Obama Speechwriter Finds a New Direction

--------------------------------------------------

"...The final straw came the other week when Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (a.k.a Joe the Plumber) asked a question about higher taxes for small businesses. Instead of celebrating his aspirations, they were mocked. He wasn’t “a real plumber,” and “They’re fighting for Joe the Hedge-Fund manager,” and the patronizing, “I’ve got nothing but love for Joe the Plumber.”
Having worked in politics, I know that absolutely none of this is on the level. This back and forth is posturing, a charade, and a political game. These lines are what I refer to as “hooker lines”—a sure thing to get applause and the press to scribble as if they’re reporting meaningful news."

Those are the words of a now-former Obama speechwriter: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/p-j-gladnick/2008/10/29/obama-speechwriter-switches-mccain-ignored-msm

Joe the Plumber's Biggest Mistake

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
His big mistake was asking a question of Presidential Candidate Barack Obama at a campaign stopover Obama made.
Since that time, the "mainstream media" has been hard at work finding out that Joe does not have a license (he works for a licensed plumber, so does not need one) and owes the IRS about $1,200.
So, in the short space of a week, Joe the Plumber has come from being a private citizen with some not-so-unusual problems and accomplishments, to being an "unqualified" "deadbeat."
So much for asking questions. With all this attention being paid to Joe by a media that most often appears to be more Barack Obama's press agency than a free press, why is the so-called "mainstream media" not asking questions about Obama?
Well, that might upset things and put Sen. John McCain in the White House. Can't have that!
